Hello there!

My name is Tomasz (Thomas) and I've decided to run a blog. Yaay...!
But who am I, then? I'm just a network engineer, somehow experienced in networks and security. If you want to know something more, please take a look at About page.

So... will it be just another networking blog? I hope not. I don't want you to get bored, I want you to learn new things and improve your experience. At the same time I will refresh my knowledge. So this can be considered as some kind of public diary. Neither you nor I have any amount of time to waste, so I will do my best to provide you with stimulating content, whether you make your first steps in networking area or are looking for something new. If you are experienced in Cisco, HP, Juniper, Huawei or anything else - you're welcome, too! We can learn something from each other.

My goal is to cover several topics: network fundamentals, ExtremeXOS security and automation features, deployment scenarios and encountered issues, "what's new" and disputes. Eventually I want to cover XMC/EAC every day operations, BOSS/VOSS basics and introduce SPB to you as well. After Extreme's acquisition of Avaya networking I've met IEEE 802.1aq and I consider it amazing. I would like to show you why it is a game changer.

I don't plan to duplicate user guides and CLI references but if you find those papers sufficient for you, that's very nice. :)

And why Extreme? It's not only something I got stick to over couple of professional experience, I also believe that it's a vendor full of interesting solutions, not just the boxes - those will eventually be the same within each vendor's portfolio, adaptable, enhancable, and fed with AI and ML capabilities to serve all the possible needs of IT operations. I also believe Extreme has a nice CLI that is good for beginners. It's not only me or somehow controversial Gartner that sees the purple company as an option for enterprise networking, take a look Zeus Keravala's recent post at nojitter.com.

I believe my style (and this lame FQDN) will get improved over time, this post is just off the top of my head.

If I'm erroneous with my English at some point, please forgive me or just give me some feedback so I can improve. Thanks!
